Go Touch Grass is a daily photo-dare app. You sign in, take a live photo for today’s dare (camera only — the gallery is not used), and post it for other players to see and react to. You may also comment and, after sharing a take, submit your own dare text.
To post, you create an account with a phone number (SMS one-time code) or optional Google / Apple sign-in. We store your phone number (or OAuth subject), a display name you choose, and a random account id. We do not sell this.
When you post a take, the live photo (and related dare text / comments) is stored on our servers (Supabase) so other players can see it in the feed and on your profile. Photos are not sent to advertising networks. We may use an AI vision model (Google Gemini, via our server) to check that a take matches the dare title — the image is processed for that check and is not used to train a public model on our behalf. Do not post photos of other people without their permission, or anything illegal. You can ask us to delete your account and posted takes by emailing the address above.
The app requires the camera to take a live photo for a dare. We do not access the camera except when you are capturing a take. We do not read your photo gallery.
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used. PostHog collects product-analytics events
(for example posting a take or signing in), approximate (country-level) location derived from
your IP address, and — in the Android / iOS app only — your device’s
Android device identifier (ANDROID_ID / iOS identifierForVendor) as the id those
events are stored under, so one phone stays one player if app data is cleared. We never identify
a web-browser session with a device id. Autocapture is off. On capable devices we may record
anonymized session replay of in-app UI (not your photos). We do not sell this data.
In the Android app we use AppsFlyer to measure which ad campaigns lead to installs. AppsFlyer
reads your device’s advertising ID (GAID / AD_ID) and basic install / app-open events.
The app declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission. AppsFlyer
sends that advertising ID to TikTok (and any other ad network that drove the
install) as attribution postbacks — that is sharing as Google Play defines it.
We do not use it to build an advertising profile of you. You can reset or delete your advertising
ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
We do not sell your data. Processors acting for us include PostHog (analytics), AppsFlyer (attribution), Supabase (accounts, photos, comments), and Google (sign-in, SMS/auth where used, and dare-match checks). Device identifiers used for attribution are passed to ad networks as described above. Photos and account data are not passed to ad networks.
Yes. Traffic to our API and to these processors uses HTTPS.
The app is not directed at children under 13. Photo dares and public posts are for teens and adults.

(Android Settings → Privacy → Ads). Gameplay analytics in the app are stored under
ANDROID_ID (factory reset changes it). Posted photos and account records are
keyed to your sign-in; tell us the phone number or email on the account.
